Album Review:
The previous works of Burton C. Bell and John Bechdel seem to have little bearing on the content of this recording. The dark ambient music with Pink Floyd-esque vocals is almost chant-like in its repetitive nature. I get the sense that there is as much to the message as there is to the music on this album.
When you think that you're starting to "get it" they throw a curve-ball at you with an ethereal cover of Simon and Garfunkel's "Sound of Silence". This recording is one of the better twists this album has to offer, despite the instant comparison with the original that the harmonies are not quite as polished.
Bell and Bechdel's flair for industrial sounds makes this album somewhat unique and interesting, but it might be difficult for the masses to digest. Numinosum presents am interesting listening opportunity, but the desire for repeat play is limited.
