Album Review:
Chevelle's fourth studio release Vena Sera provides the listener with a slightly different sound than the trio's previous work, probably due in part to the addition of new bass player Dean Bernardi. However, it is still distinctly Chevelle.
The musicianship on this album is notable. Pete Loeffler's vocal and guitar work is some of his best ever. Sam Loeffler on drums and Dean on bass comprise the backbone of this album's sound. The production is very percussion and bass friendly, but not to the point where the audio gets muddy... a good word to describe it would be "explosive".
I like this album more and more each time I listen to it and it continues to remain in my current playlist. The low-end mix is ideal for playing at high volumes while driving. If you need something loud and hard, this is it.
