Album Review:

Metal fans have something new to look forward to; Five Finger Death Punch's debut album, The Way of the Fist. From the first notes this album grabs you by the cojones, and never releases its grip.

The production is tight. The treatment of the guitar and drums sounds is very good. Vocals are well balanced, and never seem drowned out by the intense musical layers beneath. There are a couple spots when there's too much reverb on the lead guitar, but it's not a big detraction.

Song writing is surprisingly solid, and varied. Each song is distinct and draws power from different style elements. The Bleeding, one of their more downtempo tracks, is one of my favorites.

Take all the best elements from bands like Pantera, Megadeth, Metallica, Tool, and the like… put them in a blender, and you would have a concoction not unlike this The Way of the Fist.
