Album Review:
It's easy to hear how Jeremy Fisher's Goodbye Blue Monday is heavily influenced by the works of Paul Simon. If you listen more closely you can hear echoes of Tom Petty and John Mayer, and then at some point you can get on with it and listen to Fisher himself. He seamlessly meshes the sounds the influence him into some often catchy songs that are unmistakably his own brand.
All comparisons aside, Fisher's song-writing and performance is very good. On the whole, this album is also produced very well. There are only a couple spots where the vocal doubling seems a bit off, but these are minor flaws and probably only distracting to someone like me (a critic).
This is a solid effort by a talented songwriter and vocalist. The up-tempo music is infectious and you will probably find you self singing along to songs like "Scar That Never Heals", and "Cigarette". You might even find yourself making a habit of it.
