Album Review:

Rising above the ambient noise of New York City is Jessica Vale and her Brand New Disease, the follow-up to the aural intercourse of The Sex Album. Co-produced by Vale and Ivan Evangelista, this album was recorded in their own TriBeCa studio, a factor that contributes heavily to the album's overall feel. Much of this album's sound is reminiscent of early 80's new wave music, but with a strikingly modern electronic twist.

Jessica Vale infuses her vocals with something that maybe best described as passive sensuality. The resulting effect is music that is subtly alluring. The vocals are perfectly paired with compelling lyrics and each song spins a tale in manner that a film would. Exit 12 sounds like it could be part of the soundtrack to a Rob Zombie movie.

After listening to the varied collection of new songs brought forth by Vale, I feel compelled to smoke a cigar and drink a glass of single-malt... and of course, listen to the album again.
