If Lucy's Revenge's self-titled EP doesn't bring the good-fight out of you by the first track "Giving in is not giving up" then it is sure to comfort ears and set you straight by the last one "Snow Tracks." Yes it's another pop-punk act, but this is one that knows their instruments, and hey, these guys can actually sing. They're young but mature, in an amusing way. While other kids were actually studying in school, these guys were crafting perfect pop-punk melodies and animated song structures.

After a much needed change in the bands line-up, these guys just keep getting better, and they never fail to put on a very dynamic live show. Tim Carlson, the bands lead vocals/lyricist certainly has something to say about us savage humans destroying sweet mother nature. In such songs as "Hot Water Effect" he gives it to every common person that has "gotten used to the twenty-first century." While Tim's lyrics fall short of captivating brainwork, he unquestionably picks up the slack with his perfectly developed and very addictive melodies.

The EP itself consist of very crafty guitar parts, which sets it apart from most three-chord pop-punk bands, but the minor parts that are missing is what keeps it below a 10. Now don't get me wrong, generally speaking, this band is exceptionally better than most big name acts today. Lucy's Revenge has plenty of room to grow though, and given their age, they have plenty of time to do so. I've personally fallen in love with this EP, and mark my words, with more time at the drawing board and heavy promotion, this band will be a big-league touring act within the next year.
