Album Review:
Megadeth returns on United Abominations with a new line-up, a new label, and a renewed enthusiasm. This is one of their most straightforward metal albums in years.
Dave Mustaine pulls no punches with his politically charged lyrics. The subject matter can be very thought provoking and controversial. At times you may find yourself googling the lyrical references to find meaning.
The duet with Lacuna Coil's Cristina Scabbia on the remake of A Tout Le Monde (Set Me Free) is just one of the highlights on this album. The riff in Never Walk Alone...A Call To Arms is infectious. I've had it stuck in my head for a couple weeks.
I'm not sure what I expected to hear when I first listened to the tracks on this album, but I am certain I got more than I bargained for. Whether you're a recent or a long-term fan of Megadeth, the catchy riff laden songs on this album may hold some interesting surprises. As a whole, it is very good.
