Album Review:

We've been waiting eight years for Shannon Curfman to release another full-length album since her acclaimed debut... which sounds strange considering that she's only twenty-two years-old. I've nearly worn out my copy of Loud Guitars, Big Suspicions so I was very eager to hear the new album when it arrived.

On Fast Lane Addiction, this blues-rock triple threat demonstrates her song writing prowess and incredible skills with a guitar. She has certainly matured as a vocalist over the years, and now has one of the most appealing and powerful voices of any active vocalist in the genre.

Sounds on this album are varied. There's a good balance of melodic tunes, like on "Can't Let You Go" or "I Can't Wait To Miss You" and riff driven rock, like on "Little Things" or "Tangled". At times, I can hear echoes of Stone Temple Pilots and Faith No More.

A couple production issues aside, this is one of the best blues-rock albums I've heard in some time. Plus, any woman that can pull off singing a song titled "Do Me" earns extra points in my book. Hopefully Ms. Curfman won't make us wait another eight years for her next release.
