Keane

with Rocco DeLuca and the Burden

May 25, 2007

Boston, MA

The backdrop of the Boston skyline and the harbor makes this one of the most aesthetically pleasing venues I've been to. The weather was perfect for an open-air event. Everyone was in a good mood and eager for the show to begin. The atmosphere was very relaxed... even the venue staff were all friendly and helpful.

The sun was just starting to set as Rocco DeLuca and the Burden took the stage. It was an awesome performance. I had more time to really enjoy the show this time, and they sounded better than ever. The larger venue suits them well.

At the end of the set, the crowd gave the band a standing ovation. The autograph line that formed was so long that they didn't have time for any fan photos... the guys were signing right up until the time Keane was ready to start.

The sun had set and Keane came onto the stage. Tom Chaplin worked hard to energize the eager crowd, moving all around the stage, and encouraging the audience to participate in the performance. The entire crowd responded by singing along to every song.

Prior to the start of A Bad Dream, they played a video clip of Tom reading a poem... then during the song, people wearing gas masks danced on the sides of the stage. It was truly surreal

Everything about the entire night was perfect. This was one of my favorite shows this year... all the pieces fell in place perfectly. It was truly a joy to be there… a great time was had by all.
