"Welcome Sevendust fans!" Wes Borland yelled out to the zombie-like crowd. He seemed especially annoyed by a few pulse-deprived individuals in the front row. Another ho-hum crowd... hope this isn't a trend at this venue. Despite the lack of crowd interest, Black Light Burns put on a great show. They were better than when we saw them perform in Hartford , Connecticut back in July. They were much tighter, and seemed to be gelling. At the end of the set Wes yelled out, "Thanks for keeping your eyes open," then exited the stage.
10 Years put on a great show as well. I've never seen them perform live before. The first impression they gave as they struck their first chords was a good one, and continued to be supported for the duration of the show. I'm looking forward to their upcoming album.
Sevendust rocked! They also put on a better show that I remember, and the crowd, finally livened up a bit. All of us in attendance were quickly reminded just what a powerhouse this band continues to be. It's been reported that they'll be headed back to the studio to record their seventh full-length album due out next March. I can't wait to hear what they have in store next.
After the show I bought a couple of Wes Borland's posters, and asked the guys in Black Light Burns to sign them. Wes wasn't around, so I asked the guitarist if Wes would be willing to sign the poster. Much to my surprise, he came off the bus to sign the posters for me. I didn't expect that. It was a nice gesture, and I'm glad I was able to talk to Wes for a few minutes.
